The typicity and expression of a Marsannay red wine
The estate
Sylvain Pataille has been passionate about the world of wine since he was a young boy. In 1999, he founded the eponymous estate while working as a consultant oenologist. The story of Domaine Sylvain Pataille started when he rented one hectare of vines, however the terroir has gradually grown over the years. Sylvain Pataille devoted himself fully to the estate from 2001 onwards, with the passion and ambition to produce fine Burgundy wines.
The vineyard
From one hectare in 1999, the vineyard from 2 to 4 hectares between 2000 and 2001, reaching 10 hectares in 2002. Since 2008, the Domaine Sylvain Pataille vineyard has been managed organically and is Ecocert accredited. It now covers 17 hectares.
The wine
Marsannay Village "Les Longeroies" 2019 by Domaine Sylvain Pataille comes from a limestone terroir located mid-slope. This vineyard, whose vines are between 10 and 50 years old, is known for the quality and finesse of its grapes.
Vinification and ageing
The wine is aged for 15 months in barrels (50% of which are new), followed by a further 3 months in vats.
