Faiveley : Clos de Vougeot Grand cru Domaine 2013

Burgundy - Clos Vougeot - Red - 13° Faiveley Faiveley 2013 E470/13
  • Parker : 86
  • J. Robinson : 16,5

2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, pure Pinot Noir, Burgundy.

The 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru of Domaine Faiveley is pure Pinot Noir and was aged in French oak barrels for 16 to 18 months.
This vintage reveals a ruby-tinted dark, deep red colour. The nose gives off a complex bouquet of floral aromas such as rose and violet, followed by some restrained hints of wood. On the palate, the attack of the 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is round and offers strong tannins. The rich wine is well-structured and offers a good aromatic length. This Clos Vougeot is worthy of the reknown Grand Crus. It can be tasted between 2021 and 2025.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Tasted blind at Fine & Rare Wines' Clos Vougeot tasting, the 2013 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru from Faiveley has a little flatness on the nose compared to others, not quite as complex, slightly mulch-like with a light herbaceous seam. The palate is medium-bodied with a slight hardness on the entry. This lacks a little momentum and tension, what you might call a static Clos Vougeot that feels chewy on the finish. I've tasted much better wines from Faiveley in recent vintages.
