The Burgundian richness and elegance of a white wine from Bourgogne by Jean Chartron

The estate

Founded in 1859 by Jean-Edouard Dupard, a former cooper turned mayor of Puligny-Montrachet, the Domaine Jean Chartron cultivates 14.5 hectares across 23 Burgundian appellations, with renowned expertise in white wines of Premier Cru and Grand Cru. Under the direction of Jean-Michel and Anne-Laure Chartron, the fifth family generation, the estate has transformed its approach since the 2000s through early harvests and controlled oak ageing, creating mineral and tense wines rivaling the most prestigious estates of the Côte de Beaune.

The vineyard

The vines of this Puligny-Montrachet are planted on the clay-limestone soils characteristic of the appellation, offering that sought-after minerality found in the great white wines of Bourgogne.

Winemaking and ageing

This Puligny-Montrachet Village 2022 undergoes full fermentation in oak barrels, divided between 20% new barriques and 80% containers aged 1 to 5 years. The ageing on fine lees lasts 10 months in barrel, followed by 4 months in tank to refine the wine's balance.

Grape variety

100% chardonnay.
