Robert Parker

William Kelley

Wafting from the glass with notes of mandarin, yellow orchard fruit, subtle spice and wet stones, the 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume is medium to full-bodied, glossy and pure, with excellent cut and a lingering, subtly exotic finish. It's another success from La Chablisienne.

Impressive minerally accents here. This has a wealth of fragrant apples and poached peaches. The palate delivers good concentration and length. Deep melon, apples and pears here. A gently nutty warmth through the finish. Drink or hold.

Neal Martin

The 2016 Chablis Fourchaume 1er Cru has a crisp, rather conservative green apple and lemon-citrus scented bouquet that might benefit from a touch more vigor. The palate is a little oaky on entry with moderate depth, smooth and almost waxy in texture, though I would have liked more terroir expression and nervosity on the rather generic finish. Tasted blind at the BIVB Chablis tasting.

Very open, floral, the palate lacks a bit of body and energy. A little short.

Delicately lemony and fairly floral, Fourchaume deftly combines a supple breadth with finely tangy tension.
