Description
A fruity and delicate red wine from Burgundy
The estate
Domaine Louis Latour is the largest wine estate in Burgundy and boasts a winemaking history of over 200 years. Spread over the most beautiful plots of land in Premiers and Grands Crus from the Côte de Beaune to the Côte de Nuits, Domaine Louis Latour’s 50-hectare vineyard gives rise to a range of wines from 130 appellations, each of which authentically expresses the refined characteristics of its terroir of origin.
Since 1996, Domaine Louis Latour has been actively involved in environmentally-friendly viticulture.
The vineyard
For two centuries, Aloxe-Corton has been the very heart of Domaine Louis Latour. The village is situated on a stony hillside at the foot of the Corton mountain. The name of one of the climats "Corton" was added to Aloxe in 1862. The vines are 30 years old on average and are planted on subsoil made up of clay, sand and alluvial gravel, all conditions that give rise to the fine Aloxe-Corton wines.
Vinification and ageing
The hand-picked grapes are fermented in open top tanks. 100% malolactic fermentation. The wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in French oak barrels (15% new), stemming from the estate's cooperage.
The blend
Pinot Noir (100%).
