Description
Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Corton Grand Cru "Clos Rognet" 2024 from Domaine Méo-Camuzet
Tasting
Supple and velvety, this Corton Grand Cru combines structure and finesse, with a generous breadth that draws on the age of its vines.
A Corton Grand Cru from Burgundy, from the Clos Rognet of Domaine Méo-Camuzet
The estate
Based in Vosne-Romanée, in the Côte-d'Or, Domaine Méo-Camuzet has borne this name since 1981, the year Domaine Camuzet was renamed. The first wines under this label date from the 1983 vintage. Its history, however, goes back much further: it traces back to winegrowers from Selongey in the 17th century, and then to Étienne Camuzet. A family-owned estate belonging to the Méo family, it is run by Jean-Nicolas Méo, who has directly farmed all of the vines since 2008. It owns several grands crus in Burgundy, including three on the hill of Corton.
The vineyard
This Corton Grand Cru comes from the Clos Rognet, a small parcel located in the northern part of the Corton appellation, in the commune of Ladoix-Serrigny. Facing due east, it is still surrounded by its old walls. It is planted with old Pinot Noir vines. The estate keeps interventions in the vineyard to a minimum.
Winemaking and ageing
