Château Ramafort

Located in the northern Medoc, vine growing at Chateau Ramafort dates to the 17th century. After the years of ownership by Chateau Lafite-Rothschild, who completely restructured the vineyards in the 1980's, the Chateau was purchased by Charloux family in 1990. The Chateau has the largest underground wine cellar in the Medoc, also known locally as "The Cathedral". The vineyards of Chateau Ramafort are planted with 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, on gravel soil, and 50% Merlot on clay-limestone based soil.
