William Fèvre : Chablis Grand cru "Bougros Côte Bouguerots" Domaine 2019

From Fevre's tiny plot on the steepest part of Bougros, Côte de Bouguerots adds even more complexity and drive to a stunning site. There is such finesse here, allied with density on the palate, savoury characters and perfectly balanced acidity. A very mineral expression of Grand Cru Chablis. Difficult to talk about fruit flavours here as the mineral/savoury elements are the star of the show. A great Grand Cru with a very long future ahead.

The 2019 Chablis Bougros Côte Bouguerots Grand Cru has a well-defined bouquet with subtle undergrowth scents, touches of wild fennel and dried orange rind. The palate is medium-bodied with a sapid entry, gentle grip and sour lemon intermixed with ginger and white pepper, fanning out with intent toward its persistent finish. With good substance and cohesion here, this is a very promising Chablis. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
