Description
The intensity and freshness of a Tuscan red wine
The estate
With its centuries-old history, the Altesino estate is located in the picturesque region of Tuscany, in the heart of Italy. Loved for its rolling hills, historic vineyards and medieval towns, Tuscany is one of the world's most renowned wine-growing regions. Altesino, whose origins date back to the 16th century, is one of the jewels in the crown of this region, contributing to the development of Brunello di Montalcino, a wine that today ranks among the most sought-after in Italy. The Altesino story is one of a relentless pursuit of excellence, combining respect for tradition with technical innovation to produce wines of exceptional quality every vintage.
The vineyard
The 2012 Montosoli is a Brunello di Montalcino wine from a vineyard on marl and limestone soils, nestling on the slopes of Montalcino. The region, with its ideal Mediterranean climate, offers perfect conditions for the development of the Sangiovese grape variety, the only one permitted for the production of Brunello di Montalcino. The grapes ripen slowly in the generous Tuscan sunshine, acquiring a unique aromatic complexity while retaining a remarkable freshness. The topography of the land, sustainable viticulture methods and respect for biodiversity make Altesino a model of harmony between mankind and nature.
Winemaking and ageing
This Tuscan wine stems from an ageing process of a minimum two years in Slavonian oak casks and for four months in Allier casks. Ageing for 4 months in bottle.
Grape variety
This Italian wine is 100% Sangiovese.
