Robert Parker

William Kelley

Based on the 2006 vintage and disgorged in December 2019, the inaugural release of Gosset's new NV Brut 12 Ans de Cave a Minima wafts from the glass with a lovely bouquet of candied peel, warm biscuits, yellow orchard fruit and brioche. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, it's bright and incisive, with beautifully integrated acids, a delicate pinpoint mousse and a long, sapid finish. Gosset's racy style has really synergized with the ripe vintage and long sur lattes maturation to make for a very successful cuvée.

Alison Napjus

Rich flavors of pastry cream, lemon curd and glazed apricot glide across the satiny palate of this fine and creamy Champagne, offering a firm, finely integrated spine of citrusy acidity providing balance and definition. Long and aromatic on the finish, with accents of graphite, chalk and saffron. Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2026. 250 cases imported.

Decanter

Deep, nutty autolytic nose with fresh acacia flowers and brioche, burnt toast. Fine mousse, soft and beautifully integrated on the palate. A hint of autumn leaf and extended maturation on lees.

La RVF

The patina of time and this controlled oxidation impart a hint of dried fruit and a roasted note. An evolved yet coherent nose. This is a broad, powerful wine with a certain richness. A slight lack of pep on the finish, but without flabbiness.

Description

The maturity and freshness of a great brut champagne signed Gosset

The property

The oldest champagne wine house with a history dating back to 1584, the Champagne Gosset House has a well-established and unique identity, recognizable notably by the shape of its bottles, a legacy of the "antique" flasks used in the 18th century.

The vineyard

The Gosset House owns a beautiful Champagne vineyard bringing together the best Grands Crus and Premiers Crus from the Marne.

The wine

The Gosset champagne cuvée 12 years of cellar a minima Brut Antique Range stands out from the other cuvées of the Gosset range by its extended maturation time. Stored in the cellars of the Gosset House, this champagne has thus benefited from a long rest in bottle of at least 12 years on lees.

Vinification and aging

The Gosset champagne cuvée 12 years of cellar a minima Brut Antique Range underwent traditional vinification and aging on lees to avoid oxidation. Malolactic fermentation was not carried out in order to preserve the aromatic expression of the fruit. This champagne, dosed at 7 g/l, thus presents a very beautiful freshness in the mouth, the bright sparkle of the fruit and a vinous structure without losing anything in purity.

Blend

Pinot noir (51%) from Aÿ, Louvois, Ambonnay, Bouzy and Verzy and chardonnay (49%) from the terroirs of Avize, Cramant, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger and Villers-Marmery.
