Henriot : Vintage Rosé 2012

A vintage rosé champagne by the Henriot House that is both delicious and brilliant

The producer

Founded in 1808, the Henriot Champagne House has been growing Chardonnay grapes, from the Côte des Blancs, with passion, high and exacting standards for 8 generations. This noble grape variety will later become the defining style of each of the Henriot vintages.

Henriot champagne, greatly appreciated by the Dutch Court, would later become a leading brand among European aristocracy.

Henriot champagnes stand out due to their finesse, their exceptional elegance, their complexity and their radiant richness, thanks to a specific ageing period and a quantity of reserve wines for each cuvée.

The vineyard

Comprising a 35-hectare vineyard, the champagnes by the Henriot Champagne House are partly produced from the most beautiful Premiers and Grands Crus terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims.

The vintage

Despite numerous frosts and low yields, the 2012 vintage is a very high-quality vintage and showcases an optimal balance thanks to a lively acidity and beautifully ripe fruit.

This vintage rosé reflects the sought-after style of the Henriot Champagne House. The generous aromas of red fruits testify to the perfect maturity of the Pinot Noir grapes while blending with the elegance and finesse of the Chardonnay. An exceptional cuvée with a remarkable ageing potential.

The blend

The 2012 vintage rosé by the Henriot Champagne House is made exclusively from Premiers and Grands Crus.

The blend is composed of 55% Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims and 45% Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs.

The dosage is less than 8g/l.

Once bottled, this cuvée is kept for 5 years in the cellars of the Henriot Champagne House.

Vintage Rosé 2012 by Henriot: Characteristics and tasting tips

The tasting

The colour has bright coral hues. The effervescence is delicate and the foam very fine.

The nose is delicious with fresh fruity and mineral notes.

The perfect ripeness of the berries is reflected through a generous and structured palate. A beautiful freshness is combined with delicious aromas of wild strawberry, the gariguette cultivar and developped notes of orange on the finish. As it evolves, this vintage rosé will reveal more toasty notes while retaining a beautiful minerality, the signature of the Henriot style.

Food and wine pairing

The 2012 vintage rosé by the Henriot Champagne House can be enjoyed as an aperitif or during a meal with a medallion of veal or poached turbot.

For an optimal tasting, the recommended serving temperature is 8°C.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Offering up attractive aromas of blood orange, red berries, peach, orchard fruit and brioche, Henriot's just-released 2012 Brut Rosé Millésimé is medium to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, with fine concentration, ripe but racy acids, a delicate mousse and a long, saline finish. This is one of the more intense, vinous wines to emerge from Henriot in some time, and it's very promising.
