A family-owned estate for five generations, J.L. Vergnon advocates a delicious alchemy between tradition, passion for the terroir and the authentic expression of a flagship grape variety of Champagne, Chardonnay.
The vineyards of the J.L. Vergnon Champagne House are composed of Grands Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Premiers Crus from the villages of Vertus and Villeneuve. The house watches over a vineyard of around twenty plots, managed in a sustainable manner and bearing the HVE 3 label.
J.L.Vergnon's Éloquence Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut is made from parcels located in the villages of Mesnil sur Oger, Oger and Avize.
Vinification and ageing
This champagne is made from 20% reserve wine, aged for 3 months in oak barrels, and 80% of the year's wine vinified in stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in the estate's cellars for 3 years before disgorging. The dosage for this cuvée is 3 g/litre.
Éloquence Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut is a 100% Chardonnay.
A beautiful golden colour with green highlights. The effervescence is very fine.
Aromatic, the first nose blends grapefruit, almond, biscuit and pear fragrances. When aerated, the bouquet deepens its complexity through mineral, peppery and even spicy notes.
Lively and tense, the palate is marked by its precision and aromatic purity. Persistent, the finish seduces with its chalky, mineral and even saline notes, characteristic of this singular terroir.
For an optimal tasting, serve between 9 and 10°C.
J.L.Vergnon's Éloquence Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut can be kept in the cellar for around 10 years in order to develop its full aromatic complexity.
