Description
The balance and aromatic expression of an Extra Brut Blanc de Noirs champagne
The estate
The Marie Courtin Champagne House, located in the village of Polisot in the Côte des Bar, was founded by Dominique Moreau in 2005. This talented winemaker produces high quality champagnes under the name of her grandmother, Marie Courtin, a farmer. A pioneer and passionate winegrower, Dominique Moreau cultivates her vineyards using organic and biodynamic methods, striving to faithfully reproduce the characteristics of the Champagne terroirs that give rise to rare cuvées combining finesse and vivacity.
The vineyard
Efflorescence Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut from Marie Courtin stems from vines facing east in the heart of the Côte des Bar, in south Champagne. The 40-year-old vines are cultivated organically and biodynamically and rest on a marly soil. This cuvée is an Extra Brut champagne.
Winemaking and ageing
The unstemmed grapes are vinified in barrels, where the 12-month ageing period takes place prior to a 36-month ageing on laths.
Blend
Efflorescence Blanc de Noirs Extra Brut 2015 from Marie-Courtin is 100% Pinot Noir.
