Description
Ice Impérial Rosé by Moët & Chandon: a harmonious Rosé champagne
The estate
The Champagne Moët & Chandon House was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a visionary wine merchant, who quickly made it a benchmark among the European courts. A few years later, his grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, expanded the House's reputation internationally.
Jean-Rémy Moët notably created the House's iconic cuvée, the Moët Imperial, in honour of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the estate on several occasions and is said to have invented, with his troops, the gesture of sabring bottles of Moët & Chandon champagne to celebrate a victory.
Owned by the LVMH group since 1987, the House crafts, from a rigorous selection of Champagne terroirs, distinctive cuvées recognised beyond borders for their quality and seductive personality.
The wine
The Ice Imperial Rosé cuvée by Moët & Chandon is the first and only Rosé champagne specially created to be served over ice. Its dosage is 38 g/litre. This cuvée is to be discovered in magnum format for even more sharing and festivity!
Blend
Pinot Noir (45 to 55%) combines aromatic intensity with a beautiful structure, Pinot Meunier (35 to 45%) seduces with its roundness, amplitude and richness, and finally Chardonnay (5 to 10%) brings acidity, precision and refreshing notes on the finish.
This blend is completed by 20 to 30% of reserve wines to refine the intensity, richness and consistency of this Rosé champagne.
Characteristics and tasting notes of the Ice Imperial Rosé by Moët & Chandon
Tasting
Appearance
Brilliant, the robe displays a deep pink colour, adorned with subtle golden highlights.
Nose
The nose blends aromas of red fruits (morello cherries, cranberries) and juicy fruits (figs, nectarines) with notes of grenadine syrup.
Palate
On the palate, the wine reveals itself as pulpy, soft and firm, and the sweetness of the red fruits melts away. The Ice Impérial Rosé by Moët & Chandon proves harmonious, being both fresh and fruity. The freshness extends onto the finish with a touch of bitterness (pink grapefruit).
