Château de la Maltroye : Chassagne-Montrachet 1er cru "La Romanée" 2012

2012 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru, Chardonnay, Burgundy

The 2012 Chassagne-Montrachet Premier Cru La Romanée of Château de la Maltroye displays a straw-tinted yellow colour and reveals a nose that is typical for Chardonnay. Indeed, the nose gives off fresh buttery, salty, chalky fragrances and aromas of ripe fruits, such as vineyard peaches. On the palate, the wine is elegant and airy, with a well-controlled acidity which confers it an extremely refreshing finish. The Chateau de la Maltroye produced the 2012 Romanée from a Chardonnay terraced vineyard. This cuvee was aged in oak barrels, of which 70% were new barrels, for 12 months.
