Owned by Domaines Delon, Château Nénin embodies, according to the Delon family, "the expression of a great Pomerol meant to age". This 19th century estate was acquired by the Delon family in 1997 and underwent a major restructuring, bringing Château Nénin to the top of high-quality Pomerol.
Upon a veritable mosaic of terroirs, the 32-hectare vineyard of Château Nénin is planted, all in one piece, in clayey soils, silica gravel soils, quartz, granite, basalt pebbles and iron ore.
2020 began with a wet and mild winter, preceding a spring with unstable climatic conditions. Although the union of heavy rainfall and great mildness encouraged a historical earliness, the sufficient water reserves allowed the vineyard to tackle the summer conditions. Alternating hot days and cold nights up to the harvests ensured that the grapes ripened evenly.
The First Wine of the 2020 Château Nénin seduces with its balance and freshness as well as its greatly elegant tannic structure, sustained by the richness of the Merlots and the structure imparted by the Cabernet Francs.
