Among the many arguments for abandoning or revising the 1855 Bordeaux classification of the top wine properties in Médoc, one of the most convincing is the quality of
Château Sociando-Mallet.
This extra-class
Haut-Médoc exactly knew to reflect this
great vintage.
Sociando-Mallet 2010 is dominated by
blueberry notes. Aromatic,
dense fruit. Flavors of macerated fruits in liqueur, smoky scent of
exotic wood combined with an
intense graphite note. On the palate it is
direct and precise, intense first impression, which assumes a
velvet structure with
concentrated but racy tannins. The finish has an
excellent length and the interplay is very
harmonious. A frist class Sociando-Mallet with
aging potential.

Wine Advocate-Parker :
Deep garnet colored, the 2010 Sociando-Mallet charges out of the gate with open-knit, maturing scents of baked blackberries, warm cassis and plum preserves followed by notes of sandalwood, cedar chest and pencil shavings. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a firm, grippy texture and bold freshness supporting the evolved, slightly drying fruit, finishing a bit chewy.
