Description
A seductive Clos de la Roche Grand Cru wine with elegance and aromatic expression
The estate
Since 1859, the Maison Louis Jadot has been recognized as one of the great names in Burgundy. The family history began in 1826 with the acquisition of a parcel of the famous Beaune Premier Cru des Ursules. With expertise passed down from generation to generation and a dynamic trading activity, the house now enjoys an international reputation. Louis Jadot offers a wide range of wines, from regional appellations to the most prestigious Grands Crus. In September 2022, Thomas Seiter (formerly Bouchard Père et Fils) succeeded Pierre-Henry Gagey as president, while Thibault Gagey holds the position of general manager.
The vineyard
This Grand Cru from Louis Jadot comes from Clos de la Roche, an iconic appellation located in the heart of the Côte de Nuits, near Gevrey-Chambertin. The vines benefit from an east-facing exposure and rest on clay-limestone soils, ideal for expressing this great Burgundy terroir.
Vinification and aging
The harvest, carried out by hand, preserves the integrity of the berries, which are transported in small crates. In the cellar, vinification is carried out in open vats (wood or stainless steel), with two punchings down per day during fermentation. The aging of this wine from Clos de la Roche, lasting 18 months, takes place in barrels from the house's cooperage.
Grape variety
100% Pinot Noir.
