Description
2012 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru, Burgundy.
The 2012 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru of Louis Latour offers good length and a beautiful aromatic persistence. In the 12th century, the Cistercian monks of Cîteaux abbey, proprietors of Clos Vougeot, practiced viticulture there. It is during the 15th century that the great manor was built in the heart of the Clos. The Clos Vougeot is the biggest Burgundy Grand Cru appellation, with a vineyard of 52 hectares. The ruby red coloured wine reveals purple highlights. The nose is strong with woody and spicy notes enhanced by a hint of iris. On the palate, this 2012 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru offers redcurrant and intense liquorice aromas. The vibrant texture is followed by superb tannins which exalt a good length on the palate.
