With its particular northerly exposition within Vaillons, you would expect Les Lys to be very successful in 2022. And it is. A fine blend of freshness allied to sun-drenched ripeness, with a pronounced mineral finish. A great example of the distinctive terroir of Les Lys. Long, mineral, salty tail.

Purity defines this wine, centered on Anjou pear wrapped in jasmine tea. The palate mirrors the nose with balance and poise, offering texture and acidity that tease out hidden layers. A firm mineral streak promises more to come as it evolves. Already approachable, but its restrained energy suggests patience will be rewarded.

Delivering scents of orange oil, white flowers and oyster shell, the 2022 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons is medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave, with racy acids and a saline finish, showing little trace of the hot, sunny vintage. As usual, it's derived from old vines in Les Minots (that are a source for the Fèvre massal selection), as well as holdings in Roncières and Chatains.
