Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes of Boizel Grand Vintage 2015
Tasting
Appearance
The appearance reveals a luminous golden hue, highlighted by sparkling reflections. The effervescence is fine and consistent, forming a cordon of delicate, persistent bubbles that enhance the wine’s visual elegance.
Nose
The nose captivates with its aromatic richness and precision. It opens with ripe fruits such as white peach and pear, enriched by subtle floral notes like hawthorn and white flowers. Hints of warm brioche and roasted hazelnut complete this expressive bouquet.
Palate
The palate combines smoothness and freshness. The creamy texture is accompanied by beautiful liveliness, highlighting aromas of yellow fruits such as apricot and mango. Notes of honey, toasted bread, and a subtle minerality extend the experience, leading to a long, fresh, and highly elegant finish.
Food and wine pairings
Ideal as an aperitif, this cuvée also pairs well with seafood, shellfish, white fish, or poultry.
A vintage Extra-Brut Champagne marked by freshness and elegance
The estate
Since its founding in 1834, the Champagne Boizel House has been renowned for its refined cuvées, crafted from the finest Champagne vineyards. While the house manages its own vineyard of about 7 hectares, it also sources grapes from partner winegrowers.
Florent and Lionel Roques-Boizel represent the sixth generation at the helm of the family estate.
The wine
Boizel Grand Vintage is produced exclusively in exceptional years. Benefiting from 8 years of aging on lees, this Extra-Brut Champagne is dosed at 4 g/liter.
Vinification and aging
Only the juice from the first pressing is used in the making of this 2015 vintage Champagne.
Blend
55% Pinot Noir (Mailly, Ambonnay, Cumières) and 45% Chardonnay (Avize, Mesnil sur Oger, and Chouilly).
