Description

Characteristics and Tasting Recommendations of the Tours-sur-Marne Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru 2019 from Boizel

Tasting

Color
The color displays an intense gold with amber highlights, enhanced by a fine and persistent effervescence.

Nose
Rich and expressive, the bouquet reveals ripe fruits such as juicy pear, mirabelle plum and sour cherry, accompanied by notes of brioche and fresh butter. Praline aromas evolve into spicy, lightly toasted nuances, with subtle hints of cocoa and white pepper.

Palate
Broad and generous, the palate impresses with its velvety texture, balancing power and freshness. Crunchy red fruits harmonize with toasted, finely woody notes, offering remarkable complexity and a long finish accented by dried fruits and delicate spices.

Food and Wine Pairings

This Champagne pairs perfectly with roasted poultry with wild mushrooms, truffle risotto or beef tenderloin with caramelized shallots. It also elevates aged cheeses such as 24-month Comté or a tomme de Savoie.

Service

This Champagne is best enjoyed at a temperature between 8 and 10 °C.

An Exceptional Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru from Maison Boizel

The Estate

Founded in 1834 in Épernay by Auguste Boizel and Julie Martin, the Maison Champagne Boizel remains a family-owned estate now run by Florent and Lionel Roques-Boizel, representatives of the sixth generation. Located on the UNESCO-listed Avenue de Champagne, it has been distinguished by its historical innovations, notably the creation of the first Blanc de Blancs in 1929 and the Joyau de France cuvée in 1961.

The Vineyard

The terroir of Tours-sur-Marne covers 52 hectares of clay-limestone soils with a strong presence of chalk. Situated at elevations between 90 and 180 meters with a southeast exposure, this Grand Cru of Champagne benefits from exceptional conditions for the flourishing of pinot noir.

Winemaking and Aging

The winemaking of this Blanc de Noirs is carried out entirely in stainless steel tanks, thus preserving the aromatic purity of the grape variety. Five years of aging on the lees confer remarkable complexity and depth to this cuvée. Its dosage is 3.5 g/L.
