2007 Champagne Blanc de Blancs, Chardonnay.
Champagne house Delamotte was created more than 250 years ago and is established in a beautiful dwelling, in the heart of the Mesnil-sur-Oger terroir. The Blanc de Blancs cuvee comes from that terroir, where it gets its most beautiful expressions. This 2007 is 100% Chardonnay.
The Champagne House Delamotte 2007 Blanc de Blancs displays a gold colour with green highlights. Its brightness is enhanced by abundant and regular fine bubbles that lead to a frank and pure nose. It gives off white flower, orange blossom and jasmine fragrances, followed by a hint of mint and William pear. On the palate, the 2007 Blanc de Blancs is developed and amplified in its complexity, its elegance and its excellence. This Champagne reveals strength and freshness; but also delicate aromas of honey with a citrus fruit accent. This Champagne is balanced and seductive.
Wine Advocate-Parker :
Disgorged in May 2015, Delamotte's white-golden colored 2007 Blanc de Blancs (dosage Brut) opens with a pure, fresh, intense and smoky/chalky bouquet with white fruit aromas, orange/lemon, brioche, nut and toffee flavors. Pure, fresh and elegant on the palate, this is a concentrated, complex and juicy yet finessed and tensioned Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs. It is tight but creamy and harmonious and reveals concentrated lemon juice flavors in the long, mineral finish. Tasted in November 2017.
