The finesse and precision of a perfectly balanced champagne

The estate

The Deutz Champagne House was founded in 1838 in Aÿ by two Prussians, one of which was William Deutz. One was a wine merchant and the other sold champagne. The two founders were both equally involved in bottling, disgorging, dosage and labelling, even before they owned their own champagne and vineyards. Throughout the 20th century, the heirs of the founders gradually shaped the vineyard by buying plots in the best terroirs of the Champagne region. Today, the Deutz Champagne House is owned by the famous Roederer family. The great history of Deutz champagnes portrays a harmonious style between both virtuosity and refinement.

The wine

One of the House’s emblematic champagnes, William Deutz champagnes offer an alluring style and perfect balance. Following a lengthy 10-year ageing period in the cool cellars of the Deutz Champagne house, the William Deutz champagne is revealed.

The blend

The fruit of a very fine vintage in Champagne, William Deutz 2007 highlights the nobility of each grape variety used in the blend. Pinot Noir (65%) from the great terroirs of Aÿ, Verzenay, Bouzy and Ambonnay, Chardonnay (30%) from the terroir of Avize and Villers-Marmery and Pinot Meunier (5%) from the terroir of Pierry blend together and create a harmonious symbiosis.

The tasting

This champagne boasts an elegant bronze colour with golden highlights. The effervescence is utterly fine.

The bouquet offers an alluring aromatic purity and delicate expression. Notes of peach, cherry and plum emerge, while the delicious pastry notes appear later on.

From the outset, the wine surprises the palate with its precision and aromatic intensity and exudes notes of ripe yellow and white fruit. The subtle salinity of this champagne gracefully enhances the whole and leads to a delicate balance.

Food and wine pairing

A fine champagne, elegant and distinguished, which will be a true guest of honour and complement an array of fine dishes.
