Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of Henriot's 1989 Brut Millésimé Blanc

Tasting

Beautifully fresh, this cuvée delights with indulgent notes of dark chocolate and bitter orange.

Serving and cellaring

The 1989 Brut Millésimé Blanc is best enjoyed at a temperature between 9 and 12°C.

The vibrancy and aromatic intensity of a vintage Champagne

The estate
Founded in 1808 in Reims by Apolline Henriot, a visionary widow and niece of Canon Jean Godinot, Maison Henriot quickly won over Europe's royal courts with its first cuvée, Brut Souverain. Its 35-hectare vineyard spans some of Champagne's finest terroirs: the Vallée de la Marne, the Montagne de Reims, and the Côte des Blancs. Maison Henriot is distinguished by the excellence of its cuvées, crafted predominantly from Chardonnay, and its exclusive sourcing from grands and premiers crus. Under the direction of cellar master Alice Tétienne, it continues the legacy of excellence initiated by its pioneering founder.

The vintage
The 1989 vintage in Champagne, marked by great precocity, saw strong contrasts with spring frosts, while ranking among the warm vintages with high ripeness.

Winemaking and aging
The dosage of this 1989 Brut Millésimé Blanc is 6 g/L.

Grape varieties
57% Pinot Noir and 43% Chardonnay sourced exclusively from premiers and grands crus in the Montagne de Reims (Verzy, Verzenay, Avenay, Trépail) and the Côte des Blancs (Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger).
