Description
An aromatic and refreshing Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut champagne
The producer
A family-owned estate for five generations, J.L. Vergnon advocates a delicious alchemy between tradition, passion for the terroir and the authentic expression of a flagship grape variety of Champagne, Chardonnay.
The vineyard
The vineyards of the J.L. Vergnon Champagne House are composed of Grands Crus from the Côte des Blancs and Premiers Crus from the villages of Vertus and Villeneuve. The house watches over a vineyard of around twenty plots, managed in a sustainable manner and bearing the HVE 3 label.
The wine
J.L.Vergnon's 2010 MSNL Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Extra Brut is made from the Les Chetillons and Mussettes parcels located in Mesnil sur Oger.
Vinification and ageing
This champagne is vinified and aged in stainless steel tanks. It is aged in the estate's cellars for 7 years before disgorging. The dosage is 3 g/litre.
The blend
MSNL Blanc de Blancs Grand cru Extra Brut 2010 of J.L.Vergnon is a 100% Chardonnay.
The tasting
Colour
A beautiful golden colour with subtle green highlights.
Nose
The first nose is abundant, revealing white fruit and grilled almond fragrances. When aerated, the bouquet gains in complexity. Notes of lemon, bread and pastry mingle with a beautiful minerality.
Palate
The mouth is precise and silky. The finish is persistent and seductive with its salinity and minerality.
Service
For an optimal tasting, serve between 9 and 10°C.
Cellaring
J.L.Vergnon's MSNL Blanc de Blancs Grand cru Extra Brut 2010 can be kept in the cellar for around 10 to 30 years in order to develop its full aromatic complexity.
