The estate

An essential reference among fine Chablis wines, in Burgundy, Domaine Laroche stands out particularly due to its unique historical heritage, which dates back to the 9th century. With a 90-hectare surface area, Domaine Laroche's vineyard, managed using agro-ecological viticulture, is composed exclusively of Premiers Crus and Grands Crus. Domaine Laroche has been part of the Advini group since 2009 and is renowned its precise, elegant and rich-flavoured wines, which authentically express the subtlety of the Chablis climates.

The wine

The 2018 Chablis 1er Cru "Montée de Tonnerre" by Domaine Laroche is one of the most beautiful Premiers Crus in the appellation. Facing south-west and neighbouring the Grand Cru Les Blanchots, this climat is rooted on a terroir composed of numerous fossilised outcrops, which gives the wine both a fine and intense aromatic expression. This 1er Cru is made from grapes coming from the estate's partner winegrowers.

The vintage

The mildness of both autumn and winter favoured the rapid development of the vines. Summer was marked by a dry climate and high temperatures. The early harvest was high quality, with grapes that showcased a perfectly healthy condition as well as balanced and harmonious juices.

Vinification and ageing

Vinification occurs in 100% demi-muids, as is the 12-month ageing period, which enhances the aromatic palette of this Premier Cru. Malolactic fermentation is natural.
