A Chablis faithful to the typical minerality of its appellation

The estate

Established in Chablis, Burgundy since the 9th century, Domaine Laroche is one of the pillars of the appellation. Part of the Advini group since 2009, it perpetuates a vision based on elegance, precision, and respect for the terroir. Each cuvée embodies a faithful and refined interpretation of the different Chablis climates, thanks to exacting viticulture and careful vinification.

The vineyard

The Vieille Voye plot covers 7 hectares in a single block, located at the foot of the Premier Cru Les Vaillons, on a hillside benefiting from broad sunny exposure. The terroir rests on Kimmeridgian limestone soils, the signature of the finest Chablis terroirs. The vines, aged approximately 70 years, allow for optimal maturity while preserving the saline freshness that characterizes great Chablis wines.

The vintage

The 2023 vintage reveals itself in the Loire as generous and of high quality. After a winter and spring marked by climatic and sanitary pressures, the heat of late August favored ideal grape ripening. The harvest began on September 7th with the Premier Cru Côte de Léchet. Exceptionally rapid maturity was observed, leading to plot-by-plot harvesting in order to preserve the freshness and minerality emblematic of the appellation. Fermentations took place under excellent conditions and yields returned to satisfactory historical averages for Chablis.

Vinification and aging

The grapes are harvested manually and then sorted on a table upon arrival at the winery. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations take place in 55-hectoliter French oak casks, aged approximately 30 years. The wine remains in the same cask until racking in June, then continues its aging on fine lees until bottling.

Grape

The Chablis Village "Vieille Voye" 2023 is 100% Chardonnay.
