The Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons monopole from Domaine Faiveley is 100% Pinot Noir. It is the only Grand Cru that carries the name of its owner since the appellation has been confirmed in 1937 by the Court of Cassation. The 1999 cuvee is a worth keeping wine.
This almost black-tinted intense red Corton reveals a strong and concentrated nose which gives off fruity and woody notes. On the palate, the 1999 Corton Grand Cru Clos des Cortons offers a strong and tannic attack. The tannins are firm yet blended in the thick texture. This wine has an excellent volume with supple tannins and a good aromatic persistence.
