Description
A Chablis Village wine with a seductive balance and finesse
The estate
Founded in 1923 following the initiative of Abbé Balitrand, the winemaking cooperative La Chablisienne is the most important producer of Chablis wines. From Petit Chablis, to Chablis, Chablis Premiers Crus and Chablis Grands Crus, and the wines from the legendary Château Grenouille, La Chablisienne produces around thirty different vintages and crus which enable lovers of great Burgundy wines to discover the multiple profiles of Chablis wines.
The vineyard
La Chablisienne's 2018 "La Sereine" is a Chablis wine made from vineyards that spread over all the communes of the appellation. The name of this wine refers to the river Serein. The vines are 30 years old on average and are planted on Kimmeridgian clay-limestone soils.
Vinification and ageing
Cold static settling. Alcoholic and malolactic fermentations are carried out in vats. This Chablis Village wine is aged for around 12 months on fine lees, in vats and barrels.
The blend
Chardonnay (100%).
