Description
Drappier Brut Nature Rosé: Champagne Elegance
The Estate
Since its founding in 1808, the Champagne Drappier House has had a history closely linked to Pinot Noir, its flagship grape variety. In the 1930s, this grape was replanted on the estate despite the general opinion of the village. History proved the house right, as the Drappier 100% Pinot Noir cuvée, incidentally, was favored by General de Gaulle during his family meals.
Today, the children of André and Micheline Drappier represent the eighth generation to cultivate this exceptional vineyard using organic and biodynamic viticulture, highlighting forgotten grape varieties such as Arbane, Petit Meslier, and Blanc Vrai.
The Vineyard
Located south of Reims, the vineyard of the Champagne Drappier House covers 75 hectares of vines, spread between the Côte des Bar and its old vines, the Montagne de Reims and its intense Pinot Noir, as well as the Côte des Blancs and its refined Chardonnay. This vineyard is distinguished by its limestone-rich terroir combined with maximum sunlight. Some of Drappier's plots are also cultivated using draft horses.
Winemaking and Aging
This Brut Nature Rosé from Maison Drappier is produced by the saignée method after 3 days of maceration. With a focus on respecting the product, every effort is made to alter the wine as little as possible. The presses are low-pressure, gravity is preferred over pumping to avoid oxidation, sulfur is used minimally, fermentation takes place at low temperatures, there is no filtration, and zero dosage.
Blend
This Rosé champagne is 100% Pinot Noir.
