Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes of Grand Vintage Rosé 2016 Moët & Chandon
Tasting
Appearance
Brilliant, the color is delicately pink.
Nose
The bouquet reveals a fruity profile reminiscent of red fruits in syrup, crushed strawberries, and raspberries. Notes of summer black fruits such as blueberry mingle with delicate floral touches of rose, hibiscus, and violet, complemented by nuances of gingerbread and cocoa powder.
Palate
The attack is pleasant, tender, and smooth. The initially light structure gradually softens, giving way to a sweet sensation. The fruits are fresher than on the nose, with notes of barely ripe raspberry. The finish, slightly astringent, is airy like a veil of silk.
Food and wine pairings
This rosé champagne pairs perfectly with seafood dishes, white meats, or red fruit desserts.
Serving and cellaring
Grand Vintage Rosé 2016 is best enjoyed between 8 and 10°C. Drink by around 2028.
An exceptional rosé champagne from a remarkable vintage
The estate
Founded in 1743 by Claude Moët in Épernay, Moët & Chandon is one of the most iconic champagne houses in the world. Part of the LVMH group, the House is renowned for its iconic cuvées.
The vineyard
The Moët & Chandon vineyard covers 1,190 hectares, making it one of the largest in the Champagne region. It is spread over the finest crus in the area, ensuring consistently exceptional quality.
The vintage
Despite turbulent weather in 2016, the pinot noir and meunier grapes, which make up 85% of this champagne, are of outstanding quality. This is the 48th rosé vintage since the House was founded.
Winemaking and aging
Grand Vintage Rosé 2016 was crafted using traditional Champagne methods, with fermentation in stainless steel tanks and extended aging on lees to develop its aromatic complexity.
Blend
43% pinot noir
42% chardonnay
15% meunier.
